I haven't touched my website in months. One of the original reasons I created the site back in 2006 was to promote my books, write the occasional tutorial, and to publish technical book reviews. Most of those purposes are currently fulfilled on my blog A Million Chimpanzees. I've even given some serious thought to renaming this site after my simian friend, but I decided to keep the separate persona.
That said, I'm scaling down the site quite a bit. I used to try and throw in everything, including the kitchen sink, but I never found the time to keep all of those pages updated. Now that I can split content between my Wiredwriter site and my blog, hopefully, they'll both be easier to manage. As you can see, there's really only four pages to the site, so I should never have to work too hard on maintenance. I've added a jQuery feature that lets site visitors rotate though my publications and reviews without too much trouble.
As time goes on, I'll publish announcements here specific to my current and upcoming projects. For now, although I'm fantastically busy, there's not much to tell. I've got a steady "day job" at Keynetics here in Boise, as their Technical Writer. As of December, I'm in the middle of writing my first eBook and starting in January, I'll be starting another book. Both are "under wraps" until the publishers start marketing them.
Not much else to say. As you can see from my portrait, I'm constantly slaving over a computer (haven't shaved in a bit). Updates will be posted as they occur. Peace out.
LATEST NEWS
February 2010 -
Busy month ahead. I'm trying to wrap up one book and go full steam ahead on the other project. On top of that, I just got a notice from my agent of yet another book opportunity. Feast or famine, but this is a good economy to have a feast, if you can get it. Nothing set in stone on the new proposal yet and I'm still under NDA on all these projects, so I can't talk about them. Also making a bunch of little training movies at my day job, so I'm getting very used to Camtasia Studio. Stay tuned.
