Tittel and Chappel's Guide to TCP/IP Second Edition was the first book I worked on as a contributor. I not only updated the chapter on TCP/IP, NetBIOS and WINS for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 technologies, but I wrote the Instructor Manual that accompanied the textbook.

At about the same time, I was also offered the opportunity to write the Instructor Manual for the Mark Ciampa text, Security Awareness: Applying Practical Security in Your World. It would be the first of a number of works where I would address some form of computer or network security.
A+ 4 Real
I was invited to work with Tcat Houser on a project to create the "ultimate" A+ textbook. A+ 4 Real is the product of a multi-national group of technicians and authors. It was a labor of love since we were all working as volunteers but it made for some good times and lasting friendships. My contribution included a look at the Category View of the Control Panel in Windows XP as well as XP CLI tips and tricks and updating the chapter on motherboards. Dell PowerConnect Networking Primer
I'm very proud of the work I did on this book. I was initially slated to have a pretty minor contributing role, but a few things happened that resulted in the editor asking me to write more chapters and eventually, I produced three chapters and a couple of appendicies. The book project was delayed and all of us thought finally scrubbed but apparently it was resurrected. Today, you can find this book at Blackwell.com.
