I recently got an email from someone who shared her honest comments about both of my SharePoint books:
I am a programmer/DBA and used The Definitive Guide to learn Sharepoint on my new job. When I received the MCTS book, I was very glad to see you were the writer and knew I was almost ready for the exam when I viewed the table of exercises (I was a bit intimidated by the audience profile description on the microsoft site). Within a few days I was ready to take the exam and passed with flying colors!
So I just wanted to say thanks very much for writing these great books, they have been invaluable these last few months, and my boss is happy with the knowledge Ive gained in a short time.

SharePoint 2007: The Definitive Guide is available and has been reviewed at LogicalExpressions.com. Reviewer Bill Coan, MVP says in part:
Because so many authors contributed chapters on their special areas of expertise, this book contains authoritative, easy-as-a-cookbook procedures for accomplishing routine MOSS 2007 tasks. Individual procedures aren't intimidating, but the quantity of procedures might strike some readers as intimidating. This is inevitable, given Pyle's observation that Sharepoint is vast. The book runs to very nearly 800 pages. It is heavily illustrated with screen snapshots and also contains a number of flow charts and block diagrams to help explain architectural issues and relationships.
My book has also been reviewed at Amazon.com. The reviewer says in part:
SharePoint 2007 is a huge topic to try and cover, but the authors (all 11! of them) do a tremendous job covering as much about SharePoint as is possible in a single book. In going through this book, I dare say there isn't a single SharePoint 2007 topic that isn't at least mentioned. In any case, it's certainly the most comprehensive SharePoint 2007 book that I have come across.
