1. Now select Other in the menu.
    NOTE: Notice how the Application pane is empty. There's a reason for this. Under the Applications pane, you can see two unselected checkboxes: Show unsupported applications and Show commercial applications
  2. While the Other menu item is still selected, select the Show unsupported applications checkbox.
    NOTE: Notice that the Other box is now occupied. These items can be downloaded and installed onto Dapper Drake but they are not officially supported by Ubuntu.

  3. Scroll through the items in the Application pane and become familiar with the options available.
  4. After you have done so, select the Show commercial applications checkbox.
  5. Scroll through the list again and see if any other items were added.
  6. Select other menu items and see what options are now available for download.
  7. Click on any specific application and see a description of it in the large pane below Applications.
    NOTE: You can see which applications are already installed on your machine in the Applications pane. Any item with a selected checkbox is already present on your computer (such as CD Player in the subsequent graphic).
